NDE DAA POW WOW

 

Dear Friends:
 
I pray all is well with you.  I have been trying to get out our quarterly newsletter, "Voice of the Wind" but time keeps flying away from me.  So I am sending you a reminder that our annual Nde Daa Pow Wow is just around the corner.  It will be held on Saturday, March 12 at the Lark Community Center in McAllen TX.  The address is 2601 Lark Ave.  All are welcome to come and enjoy a good time of Indian fellowship.
 
Some have called me and asked how they can help.  First of all, you can help by donating money to help pay off the pow wow.  The pow wow is free to the public but not free to the South Texas Indian Dancers.  We have to pay for the head staff and all the expenses that come with the building.  You can mail your donations to:

Make sure and make all checks payable to 'South Texas Indian Dancers Association' or 'STIDA'.
 
We also have a feed where we feed an average of about 200 people.  Your food donations would also be greatly appreciated.  We will be having a brisket dinner.  If you would like to donate a brisket or other supplies contact Betty at southernlady76@att.net or call me at 956-686-6696.  We also need cakes for the cake walks.  You can also help by coming to the pow wow and helping with the raffles and other money making projects going on at the pow wow and also helping set up and take down the circle.

From San Antonio:

Take U.S. 281 south; exit west on Highway 83 to McAllen.  Go approx. 5 ½ miles to Ware Rd.; take the Ware Road exit and turn right on Ware Rd; go about five miles north to Lark Ave. Turn right on Lark; go to first traffic light which is 29th St. Garza Elementary School is on the corner and Lark Community Center is just past Garza Elementary.  For hotels, exit at Jackson Ave. or at 2nd St. from Highway 83.

 

From Houston:

Take U.S. 77 south; exit west on Highway 83 to McAllen.
